With the integration of two new French companies, DNUC and Effectiv Consulting, into Cyclife Engineering, the Cyclife group is continuing its development in the decommissioning of nuclear facilities.

A double acquisition to strengthen Cyclife's capacity in nuclear decommissioning projects

As of 1st of July 2025, Cyclife Engineering is strengthening its capabilities in nuclear decommissioning operations.

Cyclife Engineering is continuing to expand and diversify with the acquisition of a majority stake in DNUC and Effectiv Consulting, two French companies renowned for their expertise and operational know-how in the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Founded around ten years ago, DNUC and Effectiv Consulting bring together experienced teams working in all areas of the downstream nuclear cycle: decommissioning, clean-up, waste treatment, plant operation and maintenance.

"I am delighted with this acquisition. By welcoming the teams from DNUC and Effectiv Consulting, we are bringing together complementary skills that will strengthen our ability to tackle the technical and industrial challenges of nuclear decommissioning together. " comments Stéphane Béguin, Managing Director of Cyclife Engineering.

This double acquisition marks a strategic step in the development of Cyclife Engineering, strengthening its capacity to intervene on worksites in France, in particular on EDF's sites.

This operation is being carried out in partnership with FILDEM, a subsidiary of the D&S Group, with which Cyclife Engineering shares a common ambition: to develop the skills and positioning of these new joint ventures in a growing market, with key operations in the pipeline.

"I would like to thank the management teams at Cyclife for their confidence in our shared ambition to collaborate on the major challenge of nuclear decommissioning. This alliance, led by FILDEM – which is pursuing its strategy within the D&S Group – will enable us to support DNUC on targeted projects by sharing our knowledge and experience.", explains Julien Feja, President of D&S Group.

Through this new integration, more than 80 experienced employees are joining the Cyclife Group. They will continue to support their long-standing customers in the civil and medical nuclear sectors, while actively contributing to the ambitious decommissioning projects planned for french nuclear power plants.

This strategic operation strengthens Cyclife Engineering's capacity to intervene in decommissioning projects, in particular for EDF, and opens up new development prospects for the Cyclife group as a whole.

For DNUC and Effectiv Consulting, this integration marks an unprecedented acceleration in their development in the EDF Group's decommissioning activities, while continuing their commitment to other French nuclear operators.

DNUC and Effectiv Consulting are two companies based in Orsan, near the Marcoule site in France. They offer a complete range of services, including studies for dismantling and clean-up operations, project management assistance for sites and works, and site operation.

A strategic development in dismantling for the Cyclife Group

DNUC was founded in 2017. It specialises in the dismantling and remediation of nuclear facilities, site operation and waste treatment. It currently employs 83 people: 22 engineers and project managers, 26 site managers and technicians, and 35 site workers and team leaders.

Effectiv Consulting was created in 2013.  It specialises in studies, engineering and documentation services in support of DNUC's works activities. It currently employs 3 people: 1 site manager/technician and 2 engineers/business managers.

The two companies' customers include the CEA (at the Marcoule, Cadarache and Saclay sites, accounting for over 50% of business), IRSN-ASNR, CIS-BIO, Framatome and EDF, among others. They will continue to work and develop activities at CEA, ORANO, Framatome and their other historic customers.

DNUC and Effectiv Consulting are now 51% owned by Cyclife Engineering and 49% by FILDEM respectively. Stéphane Béguin, Managing Director of Cyclife Engineering, is Chairman. The new Managing Director of the two new companies is Fabrice Dufresne, in line with his future role as Project Director at Cyclife Engineering.

The Cyclife Group and the Cyclife Engineering teams would like to welcome their new colleagues from DNUC and Effectiv Consulting. This development project is strategic for Cyclife and EDF. The skills developed and recognised for several years by the two companies will be invaluable in meeting future challenges together.
