The Cyclife Group, an EDF subsidiary and European leader in radioactive waste management and nuclear decommissioning, is merging its two existing companies, which are specialised in the design, deployment and development of digital twins. Through this merger, Cyclife is strengthening its digital activities dedicated to the optimisation and performance of major processes at nuclear facilities.

Cyclife supports the performance of nuclear operators

This is a successful example of open innovation serving the performance of nuclear operators. At the end of 2018, OREKA Solutions, the developer of the "DEMplus®" simulation software, was acquired by the Cyclife Group, forming the cornerstone of the digital offering of the EDF subsidiary dedicated to nuclear decommissioning and waste management. Now known as Cyclife Digital Solutions, the start-up was joined in 2022 by Quadrica, another company that created the 3D visualisation/simulation tool "MySurvey®" and the Virtual Reality tool "ViSu®". The Cyclife group believes in the value of such tools for the decommissioning and management of radioactive waste, and is accelerating its positioning in activities relating to the digital twin of nuclear facilities.

Cyclife has consolidated its offering by acquiring new markets in Europe, with EDF and other customers, and opened a new chapter on 1 January 2024, with the merger of Quadrica into Cyclife Digital Solutions. The Cyclife group now has a single entity, with 50 employees, offering a wide range of products and services covering the entire data lifecycle and the lifecycle of nuclear facilities.

Commenting on the subject, Estelle Desroches, CEO of Cyclife Group, said:

"We are convinced that the use of digital tools is a major asset for in-depth insight on the environment in which operations entrusted to us by our customers are carried out. The software and services offered by Cyclife Digital Solutions are powerful decision-making and site preparation tools that are part of Cyclife's unique offering to optimise the overall management of dismantling and waste treatment."

Cyclife Digital Solutions adds value to its customers' digital assets

Driven by its purpose: "Bringing data to life to secure and enhance your digital assets", Cyclife Digital Solutions covers a significant part of the data value chain. These include the visualisation and use of 3D data from industrial installations and plants - MySurvey® and ViSu® software-, the production of BIM (Building Information Modeling) models of buildings and the enhancement of these assets through digital simulation -intervention scenarios with DEMplus®, flow studies- and the production of Virtual Reality training scenarios for operators.

Cyclife Digital Solutions also works closely with its customers to assist them with their digital transformation: Digital Lean Management missions, project management support with the development of tailor-made solutions and training in digital tools.

Liam Perrier, Managing Director of Cyclife Digital Solutions explains:

"With this merger, the Cyclife group has a single, innovative and agile entity, committed to supporting its industrial customers in optimising their engineering activities and their work on complex installations".
